We are beloved spirit daughters of God, and our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction. As a worldwide sisterhood, we are united in our devotion to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Exemplar. We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity who:
Increase our testimonies of Jesus Christ through prayer and scripture study.
Seek spiritual strength by following the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Dedicate ourselves to strengthening marriages, families, and homes.
Find nobility in motherhood and joy in womanhood.
Delight in service and good works.
Love life and learning.
Stand for truth and righteousness.
Sustain the priesthood as the authority of God on earth.
Rejoice in the blessings of the temple, understand our divine destiny, and strive for exaltation.
I'm embarrassed to admit that on our tour of the Wells Family gardens I didn't take a single picture! I was apparently so excited about the delicious food that Carolyn made that I only took pictures of the food. Don't mistake my excitement for the gardens though, they were AMAZING. We learned a wealth of knowledge from Brother Wells and we were so thankful to them for allowing us to visit. Even more thankful that they shared the up and downs and the trials and successes of gardening with us. Oh and I can't forget to mention that they shared a bottle of his coveted Plum juice with us as well...DELICIOUS!
One of my favorite things about the Rainier Ward is how self reliant everyone is. I have gained so much knowledge about canning, gardening, raising chickens and much more from all these wonderful brothers and sisters. What a blessing! We kicked off the beginning of the co-op summer produce orders with a canning class. We wanted to get everyone excited about starting their summer canning.
We had a cookie making class with our fabulous in house expert Carolyn. She taught us some amazing cookie decorating tips. Along with all the teaching we were able to decorate mass amounts of cookies for all those great Dad's in our ward. What a delicious Father's day treat!
Through this service project we've realized shoveling poo can really unify a ward! If you were involved in any way you understand how rewarding it was to care for the horses, dogs, cats and one cute little goat. Enjoy this trip down memory lane!
I know this was so long ago and I'm sorry for the delay! I hope you all enjoy the images and they bring you back to the great memories of this wonderful Relief Society activity.
